The most important news story of 2009 was the Israeli bombardment of the Gaza strip. More than 1,300 Palestinians were killed (many of them children) and an estimated 4,000 buildings were destroyed - leaving some 50,000 Gazans homeles. Few people captured the devastation and the aftermath on film like photojournalist Christian Als. The following video is a photo essay of his brilliant and moving work.
Gaza. You are not forgotten.
